  • A tender moment between a pair of shags as they strengthen their bond. Nothumberland, UK. During the summertime around 150,000 breeding pairs of seabirds flock to the Farne Islands to nest. With such huge numbers crammed onto these tiny islands they are undoubtedly one of the best places in the UK to get close to sea birds. About Shags: Often confused with the much larger Cormorants, shags have emerald green eyes and dark green glossy plumage with a distinctive crest on the front of their heads. During the breeding season they flock to coastal sites where they gather in vast numbers.

  • Aggressive Golden Jackal. Jackal snarling at a nearby rival over food. New Delhi, India. These wolf like canids are incredibly wary and have been very difficult to photograph. However after lots of perseverance and a change in tactics I finally started to get some good results! These Indian Golden Jackals have adapted well to life in an urban environment, scavenging leftover bread and fruits brought for the monkeys and feral cows and pigs in Delhi's ridge forest.
