Sunlit Golden Jackal : About The Indian Golden Jackals:
The golden jackal (Canis aureus) is a small canine, native to Southeast Europe and Southern Asia. Compared with the smallest of the wolf species, the Arabian wolf, the jackal is slightly smaller still with shorter legs and tail. The golden jackal’s coat varies in colour and patterning depending on time of year and habitat/diet. A Jackals diet largely consists of small mammals, birds and reptiles. Jackals are primarily carnivorous and will often scavenge kills made by other predators. In areas where no meat is available jackals have been known to eat plant matter if no other food is available.
