  • Male Oriental pied hornbill close up. Langkawi, Malaysia. These stunning birds are the smallest and most widespread of the hornbills, being found in tropical rainforest throughout Asia. The hornbill's diet consists mainly of fruit but they will also eat insects, crustaceans, small reptiles, mammals and small birds.

  • Black-winged stilt wading through a shallow pool, Sultanpur National Park, Haryana, India. Windless foggy days are notorious here in Northern India and although I would sometimes like a bit more light, it's perfect for capturing reflections and soft subtle colours. Just look at those legs!

  • Calling Myna. Mynas are members of the starling family, Sturnidae. If you look closely their pupils are surrounded by small sparkling dots, reminiscent of the stars in the night sky.

  • Cheeky Rhesus macaque, Aravalli Hills, New Delhi, India. Once the humidity levels finally dropped after the monsoon I decided to get out and explore one of the large chunks of jungle that runs through the city. Almost as soon as we stepped into the forest we were greeted by hundreds of mischievous rhesus macaques staring down at us from the trees. This teenager was sat enjoying the warm sunshine allowing me to try some different compositions. The surrounding vegetation allowed me to create a natural frame and also protect his modesty! Rhesus Macaques inhabit many of New Delhi's many green spaces and have adapted incredibly well to urban life.
