About white-breasted kingfishers:
The white-throated kingfisher or white-breasted kingfisher is a large tree kingfisher, widely distributed throughout Asia. They can often be found a long way from water where they hunt a wide range of prey that includes herptiles, invertebrates, small rodents and even other birds. Adult birds are very distinctive and have a bright blue back, wings and tail. Their bodies are primarily chestnut brown with a white throat and breast. Their large bills and and legs are bright red.
India is home to many interesting varieties of kingfisher, such as the Pied Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Black-Capped Kingfisher, Common Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Stork-Billed Kingfisher and White-breasted Kingfisher.
