Puffin portrait on Black
Atlantic Puffin portrait against a black background. I noticed the puffins flying into here with beaks full of sand eels and used the bright late morning sunshine to expose for the puffin whilst enabling me to black out the background; a dark area of cliff in deep shade.
During the summertime around 150,000 breeding pairs of seabirds flock to the Farne Islands to nest. With such huge numbers crammed onto these tiny islands they are undoubtedly one of the best places in the UK to get close to sea birds.
