Peekaboo! Little Owl peers over a drystone wall. After ducking behind the wall to hide from a passing cyclist this little owl kept popping their head up to see whether the danger had passed. I couldn’t resist laughing as the look it kept giving me was hilarious! Derbyshire, Peak District NP.
About Little Owls:
Little Owls were first introduced to the UK in the early 19th century. Of all the owls found in the UK the little owl is the most crepuscular and can often be seen perched in broad daylight. When alarmed they will rapidly bob their heads up and down and rapidly take flight with their long rounded wings.
