About the Hanuman langur:
The Gray langur (Semnopithecus) is an old world monkey native to the Indian subcontinent. Langurs are highly adaptable in their habitat range, inhabiting deciduous, coniferous and tropical forests, deserts, mountains and urban areas. Their amazing adaptability as a species makes them highly successful and in some areas they are so numerous they are considered a major pest. One such example is in Jodhpur where they live right in the centre of the city alongside over a million people. Hanuman Langurs are primarily herbivores but do occasionally eat insects.
