The Grey Francolin (Francolinus pondicerianus) is a small game bird in the family Phasianidae. Male and female bird are similar in appearance both having orange faces and barring throughout the body . Francolins are found in open areas such as grasslands, scrub forests, and agricultural land. They are gregarious by nature and often found in group. They are Native to South Asia but have since been introduced to Hawaii where it has now become common. Grey Francolins were formerly known as grey partridges, which caused confusion with the similar European grey partridge.
