  • Stag Antler Ornaments. During the Autumn rut the stags regularly rub their antlers through vegetation hoping to attach some to their antlers, behaviour that is believed to make them look more intimidating.

  • A pair of Red Deer Does silhouette on the horizon at dusk. Derbyshire, Peak District National Park. By approaching incredibly slowly and carefully, I made it very clear to the deer that I wasn't a threat. Eventually the deer became so used to my presence that they eventually ignored me altogether.

  • Red Deer Doe Close Up. By approaching incredibly slowly and carefully over the space of an hour, I made it very clear to the deer that I wasn't a threat. Eventually they became so used to my presence that they actually came right over to me to investigate! This stunning doe came so close I opted for a head and shoulders portrait.

  • Alpine Wildflower Meadow. A rustic wooden hay barn at the edge of an Alpine wildflower meadow. Western Tyrol, Austria. Crouching low and focusing on the barn in the distance enabled me to completely blur the flowers into a mix of colour.Western Tirol, Austria. I visited this fantastic region as a prize for my award win in the British Wildlife Photography Awards.

  • Dunstanburgh Castle from Craster. Craster is one of the few locations on the North East coastline that works well for sunset. After an unpromising start we were lucky enough to get some stunning light and afterglow above Dunstanburgh Castle. This natural horseshoe provided a great foreground for a long exposure, with the waves crashing against the rocks.
