The Ring Ouzel – Peak District Wildlife Photography
The Ring Ouzel, a rare summer visitor to the upland areas of the Peak District. These striking birds visit our country between April and October, before returning to their wintering grounds in the mountains of Morocco and Tunisia.
About The Ring Ouzel:
An upland relative of the much stockier blackbird, ring ouzels inhabit the high moorlands of the UK, migrating in March from their wintering grounds in Tunisia and Morocco. Ring ouzels primarily breed in steep sided valleys and rocky crags and will typically haver two broods between April and mid July.
